Dominating the town is the rugged coastline with seven miles of golden sand, washed by the Atlantic Ocean. Newquays beaches provide firm golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs with coves, sand dunes, caves and exiting rock pools ready and waiting to be explored. Also, of course some of the best surfing in the country, hosting leading international surfing championships for a number of years. The Edgcumbe is situated in a superb position overlooking the beautiful cliff tops of Newquay Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, and only a short walk to the town centre. Among our facilities is a sauna (chargeable). Sam Cobley and family have been in the Hotel Edgcumbe trade for 40 years. He has a dedicated team that ensures from the moment you arrive until it is time to depart; your stay exceeds expectations and gives you that home from home feeling.

During the summer months, a full English breakfast is available for our guests (April to September inclusive).
During the winter months, only the continental breakfast is available (October to March inclusive). The kitchen is closed in the winter months so no evening meals are available.

Leave The a30 At 'Highgate Hill' for Newquay (approximately 8 miles south of Bodmin). Follow the directions for Newquay on the a392. On reaching Quintrell Downs (with the Cornwall Pearl on your left and the Quintrell Inn on your right), take the last exit off the roundabout signposted 'Newquay' (Porth seafront) onto the a3058. Follow the road for approximately 3 miles. We are on your left hand side opposite a large green.
