The painter Roberto Viani, his wife Paola and his son Cesare truly welcome you. They place their splendid Locanda at disposal of all those that love Tuscany and would like to discover those places and traditions that only a friend on the spot may know. The Locanda Viani is situated at 500 m from the historical centre of San Gimignano. It is an ancient sighting tower built for the protection of the town (free commune since 1199) between the 10th and the 11th Century A.D. on the top of a hill. The extraordinary dominating position (279 m a.s.l.) and the vicinity to San Gimignano (332 m a.s.l.) enabled an easy and fast communication with the highest tower of the town (the "Torre Grossa" - the big tower).

The Locanda Viani has 4 very comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen looks like an old grocery where every day revive fragrances and savours of past times. The hall is a small art-gallery where some works of Roberto Viani are exposed.
The entrance has been furnished with pieces of furniture and glass cupboards which are examples of the best Tuscan handicraft. A beautiful terrace surrounded by a garden from which you can enjoy the view on San Gimignano. A small road leads to the city centre which is just at 500 m .

- Yellow (1st floor with big terrace and view on San Gimignano)
- Azure (1st floor with small mansard, terrace on the roof)
- Red (1st mezzanine floor, window with ... the most beautiful view)
Breakfast: confectionery, cookies, cakes and bread of our kitchen.

" Dinner may be the most exciting moment: to have on your table those flavours which during the day you could just immagine or smelling it in the air ." The dining-room is a small art-gallery where some works of Roberto Viani are exposed. Locanda Viani is located few steps from the serene city of San Gimignano.
By car from the North by the Highway A1:
Exit at Firenze Certosa and go in direction of Siena. After 35 Km, exit at Poggibonsi Nord and then follow the signs to San Gimignano. Once in San Gimignano, at the roundabout, go to the left in direction of Volterra (do not follow signs to S.Lucia on the left hand side). After few meters you'll notice on the left a small street going uphill (there is a sign to Locanda Viani). Drive along the road until you reach our estate.
By car from the South by the Highway A1:
Exit at Valdichiana and go in direction of Siena. At Siena take the dual carriageway Siena-Firenze direction Firenze and exit at PoggibonsiNord. Follow road signs for San gimignano (SP 1). At SAN Gimignano follow road signs for Volterra (SP 47). Follow the above indications.
By car from Pisa airport:
Follow the signs to Firenze and drive on the motorway S.G.C. Fi-Pi-Li until the junction with the Autostrada del Sole A1 (E35). Take the Highway and go in direction of Roma, exit after a few Km at Firenze Certosa. From there follow the above indications.
By car from Florence airport:
Getting out from the Airport parking, go immediately to your right and follow the green signs for the Highway A1 direction Roma; drive in the dual carriageway for just a few Km, then exit and enter in the A1 in direction Roma. Exit at Firenze Certosa (the second exit you will find). From there follow the above indications.
