Found in the heart of the Lake District, this guest house is within walking distance of Windermere and Bowness.
Bowness is the ideal base for mountain climbing, canoeing, sailing, walking or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. A gentle stroll takes you to the shops in Windermere and Bowness, together with restaurants and bars. Alternatively enjoy a round of golf in the superb surroundings at the Windermere Golf Club.
Why not see the original art work and mini village museum dedicated to Beatrix Potter and her work. Coniston, Grasmere and Ambleside are also within driving distance and are perfect for shopping.
Alternatively visit the Brockhole with 30 acres to enjoy, including woodland, gardens and adventure playgrounds open all year followed by picnic or coffee on the outdoor terrace cafe.
Be amazed by the new changes at the South Lakes Wild Animal Park including aerial walkways and viewpoints. Walk amongst 100 lemurs living wild in the park.
Advice is on hand for those wishing to sight-see, walk or tour the area.

In macchina:
- Uscite dalla M6 allo svincolo 36.
- Seguite la A591 per Windermere (non uscite dalla A591).
- Giunti a Windermere, svoltate a sinistra alla banca Nat West e seguite il sistema a senso unico attraverso il villaggio, in direzione del lago.
- Dopo circa 800 metri, svoltate a sinistra per Thornbarrow Road, subito dopo le strisce pedonali.
- Il Thornbank si trova dopo 30 metri sulla sinistra. L'insegna della pensione è blu.
In treno:
- Windermere è facilmente raggiungibile da Oxenholme, il viaggio dura 20 minuti.
Un taxi da Oxenholme costa circa 23 GBP. Un taxi dalla stazione di Windermere per la pensione Thornbank house costa 5 GBP. Possibilità di organizzare un noleggio auto per il trasporto dalla stazione di Windermere per la pensione Thornbank House.
